Once upon a time opening a savings account in a State Bank was not a common thing. After filling the application form with pages after pages, pasting the photos, signing as many places as possible and going to the concerned bank officer, we would see a huge queue in front of us. If there is any small mistake in the application, if any certificate is missing, it will not be possible to open the account that day. But, banking services have become easier now that it is a digital blessing. SBI says that there is no need to go to a bank branch to open a bank account. To open a bank account online.. one needs to download the SBI Yono app.
⧫ Select the option. ‘Do you want to open an SBI savings account’? in it
⧫ Enter PAN and Aadhaar details.
⧫ Then an OTP will be sent to the Aadhaar linked mobile number and should be entered.
⧫ After that enter the relevant information.
Schedule a video call.
⧫ During the schedule one has to open the YONO app again and complete the KYC process.
⧫ Original Aadhaar and PAN cards have to be shown during video KYC.
⧫ Once the KYC process is completed, the bank officials will complete the verification process.
⧫ After that the account will be opened in your name.
No work with paper.. No need to go to the bank..
Those who want to open a new savings account and those who want to have another account can use these services without going to the bank branch.
Those who have opened an account online can make payments through Yono App, Internet Bank through NEFT, IMPS, UPI. SBI offers RuPay card to those who open an account online.
Checkbook is not provided for these accounts. A branch visit is required to avail this type of signature services. Passbook will be issued if required. A normal savings account opening fee is payable for opening this account
